las calles a reportear para no exponerse; The present investigation sought to describe how the data verification process was in
the informative notes carried out by the digital media of the Piura region: Diario El Regional
de Piura, Noticias Piura, Walac Noticias, Temis Perú and Pirhua.pe, in the first three months
of the COVID-19 pandemic, 2020. For this, a descriptive design investigation was chosen, in
which the structured interview was used, which consisted of 17 questions. The instrument was
applied to the representatives of each digital media. Likewise, reality was observed through an
observation guide and this tool had 30 items. Finally, the results were analyzed to determine
how the verification process was. This study was carried out with a sample of 29 news items
that were published by the analyzed digital media on social networks and/or on their website.
Through the results, it was verified that the digital media of Piura analyzed did not carry
out an adequate verification of data in the notes referring to the COVID-19 pandemic, in the
first three months of isolation, since they did not comply with the recommendations of the
experts. cited in this research, or in some cases they did it halfway. This affected the journalistic
quality of the publications. In the in-depth interview it was evident that the work of journalists
was also undermined by the pandemic, the same one that was so critical even for
communication professionals, who in many cases also avoided taking to the streets to report so
as not to expose themselves

demuestran un nivel de calidad deficiente; This research is set out to identify the quality level of investigative journalism
reporting in the newspapers La Industria and Correo from Trujillo, 2019.
For this, the quality level in the management of information sources, the contrast of
information, the presentation of tests and evidence, the impact of the investigation
and the use of investigation tools were established. We worked with a population
of 26 reports from La Industria and 30 from Correo that meet the requirements of
investigative journalism; 50% of the copies of each newspaper were taken for the
sample, that is, 13 from La Industria and 15 from Correo. As an instrument, an
information record sheet was used, prepared by the author, taking into account the
indicators, and a scale validated by two expert journalists.
The results of the investigation reveal that the quality level of investigative
journalism reporting in the newspapers La Industria and Correo from Trujillo,
2019, is low. The main conclusions are: 1) The quality level in the management of
information sources is regular. 2) The quality level is low regarding the contrast of
the information: La Industria, in the majority of reports, does not have the version
of those investigated. In Correo, on the other hand, there are more publications with
the defense of those investigated. 3) La Industria and Correo show little proof and
evidence. 4) Although the investigations are important, the impact is low. 5) In the
use of research tools, both media show a poor quality level
