preeclampticas no mostraron diferencias significativas (51,1 y 48,9; 48,3 y 51,7).
This study aims to determine whether hyperuricemia is a forecast of maternal and fetal
complications in pregnant women with preeclampsia the Hospital Victor Lazarte Echegaray
factor. The sample corresponded to the clinical history of 74 pregnant women divided into
two groups: group A with 37 pregnant women with preeclampsia and uric acid > 5.8 mg / dl
and group B with 37 pregnant women with preeclampsia and uric acid < = 5.8 mg / dl;
considering also other criteria of inclusion and exclusion. maternal and fetal complications,
incidence and relative risk (RR) was evaluated. Data were analyzed with descriptive
statistics. The results show an average of uric acid 6.6 ± 0.7 mg / dl and 4.4 ± 0.7 mg / dl in
preeclamptic pregnant women with and without hyperuricemia. The incidence of maternal
and fetal complications in preeclamptic pregnant women were 62.16% and 59.45% with and
without hyperuricemia. The relative frequencies of complications maternal - fetal with or
without hyperuricemia in preeclamptic pregnant women showed no significant difference
(51.1 and 48.9, 48.3 and 51.7). A X2 test and RR were no significant differences between
variables X2 = 0.057 was found; p = 0.812> 0.05); RR it was 1.05, 95% CI = 0.73 to 1.51.
The results suggest that hyperuricemia is not a predictor of maternal and fetal complications
in pregnant women with preeclampsia; the incidence of maternal and fetal both exposed and
unexposed complications was high, with no association between hyperuricemia and the risk of complications.
