Descenso de la hemoglobina materna luego de una operación cesarea electiva y no electiva sin incidentes en el Hospital Regional Docente de Trujilloes_PE
To evaluate the decrease in hemoglobin after elective and non-elective Caesarean section without incident in pregnant women treated at the Hospital Regional de Trujillo during the period January to December 2015. MATERIAL AND METHODS: We conducted an observational, analytical, retrospective cohort study, which evaluated 1078 pregnant women divided into two groups, Group I: 210 pregnant women who had elective C and Group II: 868 pregnant women who had no elective caesarean section without incident. RESULTS: The average age of pregnant women in group I and II were 27.86 ± 6.81 and 26.66 ± 8.34 years, respectively; its average parity was 2.75 ± 1.50 and 2.35 ± 1.48 children respectively. Prepregnancy BMI was 27.05 ± 5.88 and 25.85 ± 4.55 kg / m2 respectively. Surgical indications that prevailed was cephalopelvic disproportion, followed by prolonged labor. Hemoglobin levels before caesarean section in groups I and II were 11.58 ± 1.03 and 11.68 ± 1.16 g / dl; and after the operation levels were in groups I and II 10.30 ± 0.10 and 9.96 ± 1.16; decreases in hemoglobin in both groups were 1.28 ± 0.35 and 1.72 ± 0.69. CONCLUSIONS: The women who were not elective Caesarean section uneventfully had significantly greater decrease in hemoglobin levels, compared to women who had elective cesarean section.en_US
