Evaluating the anti-bacterial efficacy in intervening in vitro the measure of halos of
inhibition of Neapolitan alum in four concentrations on Staphylococcus aureus and
Pseudomonas aeruginosa.
Materials and Method: You accomplished a prospective study, side road, comparative and
experimental where in evaluated the anti-bacterial efficacy itself vitro, with the measure of halos
of inhibition in mm., of Neapolitan alum prepared in four concentrations of; 25 %, 50 %, 75 %
and 100 % and diluted in distilled water; On Staphylococcus aureus and Pseudomonas
aeruginosa next the drug's antibiotic compared with the effect piperacilina/tazobactam diluted
with NaCl 9 %. The analysis of variance of a design used the statistical intervening proof itself
completely at random and Duncan's proof of multiple comparisons, both statistical proofs
considering significancia's level of 0,05.
Results: Obtained him an anti-bacterial positive answer of the alum in all the concentrations of
study on Staphylococcus aureus and Pseudomonas aeruginosa. For S aureus the anti-bacterial
effect was major in show to a bigger concentration, in order to show halos of inhibition of bigger
measure gradually, being the alum to the 100 % the most efficacious (18,7 mm). In P aeruginosa
the alum also presented anti-bacterial efficacy with a bigger effectiveness to the alum to the 75
%, in order to present the bigger average of inhibitory halo (15 mm) but with a similar effect
with the alum to the 100 % for the not much difference of the average of halo of inhibition (14.7
mm).
Findings: The anti-bacterial effect in vitro, by means of the formation of halos of inhibition
measured in mm, of Neapolitan alum was plus sign on Staphylococcus aureus and Pseudomonas
aeruginosa to comparison with the action of the drug piperacilina tazobactam 4/0.5 a younger
significance had mg, since the antibiotic of control covered about in its totality aureus and
Pseudomonas to Staphylococcus aeruginosa.
