Grosor de mucosa palatina y su relación entre edad y genero en pacientes adultos de la clinica odontologica UPAO

Abstract

Este estudio descriptivo transversal buscó determinar si existe relación del grosor de la mucosa palatina con la edad y el género en estudiantes de la Escuela de Estomatología de la Universidad Privada Antenor Orrego. Se evaluó un total de 39 pacientes (hombres y mujeres) que presentaron edades entre 18-29 y 30-45 años durante el período 2018.

Los datos se analizaron utilizando el software Stata 15 y se empleó el Test de Correlación de Pearson.

La muestra se conformó por 39 tomografías de 39 pacientes, 21 tomografías de pacientes del sexo femenino, mientras que del sexo masculino fueron 18.

Se calculó el coeficiente de correlación de Pearson entre las variables “Grosor de la Mucosa Palatina”, en 3mm dando como resultado r=0,281 y en 9mm dando como resultado r= 0.294, un resultado de correlación significativo (p< 0,05).

This descriptive and cross-sectional study aimed to determine if there is a relationship between the thickness of the palatal mucosa with age and gender in students of the School of Dentistry of the Antenor Orrego Private University. A total of 39 patients (men and women) who had ages between 18-29 and 30- 45 years during the period 2018 were evaluated.

The data was analyzed using the Stata 15 software and the Pearson Correlation Test was used.

The sample consisted of 39 tomographies of 39 patients, 21 tomographies of female patients, while the male was 18.

The Pearson correlation coefficient was calculated between the variables ““Palatal Mucosa Thickness““, in 3mm resulting in r = 0.281 and in 9mm resulting in r = 0.294, a significant correlation result (p <0.05).
