Intervención educativa en el nivel de conocimiento e higiene oral en niños de educación primaria en la sierra de La Libertad, 2017

Abstract

El presente estudio tuvo como propósito determinar la eficacia de una intervención educativa sobre el nivel de conocimiento e higiene oral en niños de nivel primaria en la sierra de la Libertad.

El estudio fue prospectivo, longitudinal y experimental considero 120 alumnos. Se evaluó a 50 alumnos de la Institución Educativa “José Carlos Mariátegui y 70 alumnos de la institución educativa de primaria 80660 de Cayanchal durante los meses septiembre y octubre. Se empleó un cuestionario y el IHOS antes, inmediatamente después y al mes de la intervención educativa. Se empleó la prueba estadística de T-student teniendo un nivel de significancia del 5%.

Los resultados muestran en el pre-test el 54% y 57% de los niños obtienen nivel bajo y el 46% y 43% tienen nivel regular en el nivel de conocimiento en salud oral, con el método expositivo inmediatamente después de aplicar la intervención educativa y un mes después el 56%y 42% de los niños obtienen nivel bueno y el 44% y 58% tienen nivel regular en el nivel de conocimiento en salud oral. En el método audiovisual inmediatamente después de aplicar la intervención educativa y un mes después el 36% y 16% de los niños obtienen nivel bueno y el 64% y 84% tienen nivel regular en el nivel de conocimiento en salud oral. En el índice de Higiene oral el 78% y 86% presentaron nivel regular y el 22% y 14% fue malo. Con ambos métodos inmediatamente después de aplicar la intervención educativa y un mes después el 100% de los alumnos presentaron nivel regular.

Se concluye que la intervención educativa fue eficaz en el nivel conocimiento en salud oral y el nivel de higiene oral en niños de primario de la Sierra de La Libertad.

The purpose of this study was to determine the efficacy of an educational intervention on the level of knowledge and oral hygiene in primary school children in the Sierra de la Libertad. The following research, prospective, longitudinal, descriptive and experimental, considered 120 students from both institutions. Fifty students from the educational institution “José Carlos Mariátegui and 70 students from the elementary school 80660 of Cayanchal during the months September and October were evaluated. A questionnaire was used and the IHOS before, immediately after and a month after the educational intervention. The statistical test of T-student was used having a level of significance of 5%. The results show in the pre-test 54% and 57% of the children obtain low level and 46% and 43% have a regular level in the level of knowledge in oral health, with the expository method immediately after applying the educational intervention and one month later, 56% and 42% of the children obtained a good level and 44% and 58% had a regular level of knowledge in oral health. In the audiovisual method immediately after applying the educational intervention and one month later, 36% and 16% of children obtain a good level and 64% and 84% have a regular level of knowledge in oral health. In the oral hygiene index 78% and 86% presented regular level and 22% and 14% were bad. With both methods immediately after applying the educational intervention and one month later, 100% of the students presented a regular level. It is concluded that the educational intervention is effective in the level of knowledge of oral health and the level of oral hygiene in children of the Sierra de La Libertad.
