Interés en especialidades y estudios de postgrado en estudiantes del último año de la carrera de estomatología provincia Trujillo, 2015

Abstract

El presente estudio tuvo como objetivo determinar el interés en especialidades y estudios de postgrado en estudiantes del último ciclo de la carrera de Estomatología provincia Trujillo, 2015. El estudio prospectivo, transversal, descriptivo y observacional, se realizó en las universidades de Trujillo que cuentan con la carrera de Estomatología, e incluyó un total de 197 encuestas realizadas. Para la recolección de datos, cada encuesta fue registrada con código. Los resultados muestran que el 97.5%(192) desean seguir estudios de postgrado, siendo la maestría el más elegido por los estudiantes 42.6%(84), teniendo como principal motivación elevar su status tanto profesional como académico. En el caso de especialización las áreas de preferencia fueron: Rehabilitación Oral 28.9%(57), Ortodoncia y Ortopedia Maxilar 18.3%(36), Cirugía Bucal Maxilofacial 16.2%(32), Carielogía y Endodoncia 12.2%(24), Odontopediatria 8.1%(16), Periodoncia 6.1%(12) teniendo como motivo principal adquirir más conocimientos y tener un mayor ingreso económico; por último, el 49.7%(98) desean realizar sus estudios en Lima. Se concluyó que la mayoría de estudiantes desean elevar su nivel profesional, siendo Rehabilitación Oral el área de mayor elección por la promoción y que sus estudios prefieren realizarlos en Lima y en el extranjero, siendo Brasil el país más elegido con un 58%(40).

The aim of the present study was to determinate the interest in specialties and postgraduate studies in students of the last cycle of the career of Stomatology province Trujillo, 2015. The prospective, cross-sectional, descriptive and observational study was developed at the universities of Trujillo. It included a total of 197 surveys. For the collection of data, each survey was registered with code. The results showed that 97.5% (192) wish to pursue graduate studies, being the masters the most chosen by the students with 42.6% (84), having as main motivation raise both professional and academic status. In the case of specialization areas of preference were: Oral rehabilitation 28.9% (57), orthodontics and maxillary orthopedics 18.3% (36), Maxillofacial oral surgery 16.2% (32), Carielogia, and Endodontic 12.2% (24), Pediatric Dentistry 8.1% (16), Periodontics 6.1% (12) having as a main reason to acquire more knowledge and have a greater economic income; Finally, the 49.7% (98) wish to complete their studies in Lima. It was concluded that the majority of students want to raise their professional level, being Oral rehabilitation area of greater choice for the promotion and that its studies prefer to perform them in Lima and abroad, being the most chosen country with 58% Brazil (40)
