To determine the relationship between the prevalence of dental caries with the levels of hemoglobin in primary schoolchildren of the I.E. No. 80865 Trujillo, 2019. MATERIALS AND METHODS: The study was observational and cross-sectional, 274 schoolchildren were evaluated. The ceo-d/CPO-D index was used to determine the prevalence of dental caries and blood samples were obtained to determine the hemoglobin level. RESULTS: It was observed that schoolchildren from 6 to 12 years old presented 96.7% of dental caries. 20.8% of schoolchildren had decreased hemoglobin (anemia) and 79.2% of schoolchildren had a normal hemoglobin. Schoolchildren from 6 to 9 years old, 96% presented dental caries. Those from 9 to 12 years old, presented 97.1% of dental caries. To the Chi Square statistical test (p=0.1179), it gives us no relationship between the variables studied. CONCLUSION: There is no statistically significant relationship between the prevalence of dental caries and the hemoglobin level in schoolchildren.en_US
