dc.description.abstractObjetivo: Evaluar si el síndrome visual informático está asociado a mala calidad visual en estudiantes de medicina durante pandemia Covid-19. Método: Se realizó un estudio observacional analítico transversal aplicando un formulario virtual en la plataforma de Google Forms a estudiantes del primer al sexto año de medicina humana del año 2021. Se uso el Computer Vision Syndrome Questionnaire (CVS-Q) y el cuestionario de calidad de vida relativa a la visión (VFQ-25) para evaluar las variables principales Resultados: De 471 personas que ingresaron a contestar la encuesta virtual solo se analizaron 362 por cumplir los criterios de selección. Dentro de los datos demográficos, hubo predominio femenino (54%), edades de promedio 20.86 (DE: 2.9), predominaron los alumnos de tercer año (68 alumnos), el 54% presentaban patología ocular previa y de ellos el 95% usaba anteojos. El 92% de encuestados presentaron SVI, además el 63.2% tenían una mala calidad visual. Se encontró asociación estadísticamente significativa entre el SVI y la calidad visual (OR: 31.13, IC 95% 7.28 – 133.13)es_PE
dc.description.abstractObjective: To assess whether computer visual syndrome is associated with poor visual quality of life in medical students during the Covid-19 pandemic. Method: A cross-sectional analytical observational study was carried out applying a virtual form on the Google Forms platform to students from the first to the sixth year of human medicine in 2021. The Computer Vision Syndrome Questionnaire (CVS-Q) and the quality questionnaire were used. vision-related life expectancy (VFQ-25) to assess primary endpoints Results: there were 471 people who entered to answer the virtual survey, only 362 were analyzed because they met the selection criteria. Within the demographic data, there was a female predominance (54%), average age 20.86 (SD: 2.9), third-year students (68 students) predominated, 54% had previous ocular pathology and 95% of them used glasses . 92% of respondents presented SVI, in addition 63.2% had a poor visual quality of life. A statistically significant association was found between SVI and visual quality of life (OR: 31.13, 95% CI 7.28 – 133.13).
