Asociación entre apoyo social y adherencia terapéutica en hipertensos mayores de 65 años - hospital II EsSalud Tarapoto 2016

Abstract

Determinar la asociación entre el apoyo social y la adherencia terapéutica de los pacientes hipertensos mayores de 65 años en el Hospital II EsSalud Tarapoto. MATERIAL Y MÉTODO: Se realizó un estudio observacional, retrospectivo, analítico transversal donde se estudiaron 882 pacientes hipertensos de ambos sexos, mayores de 65 años del Hospital II EsSalud de la ciudad de Tarapoto, quienes respondieron el cuestionario de Medical Outcomes Study (MOS) para apoyo social y el cuestionario de Martin Bayarre Grau (MBG) para adherencia terapéutica. Todos los datos se analizaron con estadística descriptiva e inferencial. RESULTADOS: La edad promedio encontrada en el estudio fue de 73 años para las de sexo femenino y de 71.8 años para los de sexo masculino, y la desviación estándar de 6.5 años. El 68.03% de la población fue de género femenino y el 31.97% de género masculino. El porcentaje de hipertensos que tienen apoyo social está representado por el 74.94% del total, y el 25.06% que no tienen apoyo social. El porcentaje de hipertensos con adherencia terapéutica está representado por el 79.14% del total, y el 20.86% que no poseen adherencia al tratamiento. La prueba de chi cuadrado fue igual a 282.54 con un p = 0.0000 (p<0.05), determinando así una asociación estadísticamente significativa, y un odds ratio de 18.82 con un intervalo de confianza de 95%. CONCLUSIÓN: Existe asociación entre el apoyo social y la adherencia terapéutica en hipertensos, donde la razón entre hipertensos con adherencia terapéutica comparada con los hipertensos sin adherencia terapéutica es 18.82 veces mayor en hipertensos con apoyo social en comparación a hipertensos sin apoyo social.
