Correlación de hallazgos mamográficos anormales con el diagnostico histopatológico de cáncer de mama en el hospital Víctor Lazarte Echegaray

Abstract

Demostrar que existe correlación entre los hallazgos mamográficos anormales con el diagnostico histopatológico de cáncer de mama.

Material y Métodos: Se llevó acabo un estudio de tipo analítico retrospectivo, observacional, de pruebas diagnósticas, realizado en el Hospital Víctor Lazarte Echegaray- Trujillo en el periodo 2012- 2015. La población de estudio estuvo constituida por 102 historias clínicas de pacientes que se realizaron mamografía, en las cuales se encontraron hallazgos mamográficos anormales y se correlacionaron con los resultados histopatológicos de cáncer de mama.

Resultados: La correlación encontrada entre los hallazgos mamográficos anormales con el diagnostico histopatológico fue de 0.6023. Se encontró una sensibilidad (S) = 91.4 %, una especificidad (E) de 87.5%, Valor predictivo positivo VPP = 94.12, Valor predictivo negativo VPN = 82.35. La Prevalencia del estudio fue 68.63%. La exactitud de la prueba fue 90.20%. Probabilidad Bayesiana o Postprueba para el VPP fue 94.11 y VPN fue 82.35. Razón de Verosimilitud RVP = 7.31 y RVN = 0.10.

Conclusiones: Los hallazgos mamográficos anormales tienen correlación con el diagnostico histopatológico de Cáncer de Mama en el Hospital Víctor Lazarte Echegaray. La mamografía demostró ser una prueba útil para la detección de neoplasias malignas de mama.

To demonstrate that there is a correlation between abnormal mammographic findings with histopathological diagnosis of breast cancer.

Material and Methods: A retrospective analytic, observational, diagnostic tests conducted at the Hospital Victor Lazarte Echegaray - Trujillo in the period 2012- 2015. The study were performed by a population of 102 medical records of patients mammography, in which abnormal mammographic findings were found and correlated with histopathologic findings of breast cancer.

Results: The correlation found between abnormal mammographic findings with histopathological diagnosis was 0. 6023. A sensitivity (S) = 91.4 %, specificity (E) = 87.5%, positive predictive value (PPV) = 94.12%, negative predictive value (NPV) = 82.35% was found. The prevalence of the study was 68.63 %. The accuracy of the test was 90.20 %. Bayesian probability or Posttest for the VPP was 94.11 and NPV was 82.35. Positive likelihood ratio (RVP) = 7.31 and negative likelihood ratio (RVN) = 0.10.

Conclusions: Abnormal mammographic findings correlate with histopathological diagnosis of Breast Cancer in the Hospital Victor Lazarte Echegaray. Mammography proved to be a useful test for the detection of breast malignancies.
