Estrés psicológico en enfermeras de la unidad de cuidados intensivos en Hospitales de nivel III Trujillo 2013

Abstract

Estudio de tipo cuantitativo, de corte transversal, con diseño descriptivo- comparativo, cuyo objetivo fue comparar los niveles de estrés psicológico de enfermeras de la unidad de cuidados intensivos (UCI) del Hospital Belén de Trujillo (HBT) conlas enfermeras del Hospital Regional Docente de Trujillo (HRDT), durante los meses de agosto - noviembre del 2013. La muestra estuvo constituida por un total de 20 enfermeras de ambas instituciones. La recolección de datos se realizó utilizando un cuestionario que permitió valorar el nivel de estrés psicológico en enfermeras que laboran enla UCI, elaborado por las autoras, en base al instrumento “TheNursing Stress Scale” de Pamela Gray-Toft y James Anderson. Los resultados evidenciaron que el 70% de las enfermeras del HRDT y el 60% del HBT, presentaron nivel de estrés psicológico bajo; en tanto que el 40% restante del HBT y 30% del HRDT, presentaron alto nivel de estrés psicológico. Aplicando la prueba estadística Chi2, se obtuvo un valor –p= 0,537, concluyendo que no existen diferencias significativas en los niveles de estrés psicológico presentados en la enfermeras de la UCI del HRDT en comparación con el de las enfermeras de la UCI del HBT (valor-p > 0,05).

Quantitative Study of cross section with descriptive design - comparative, whose aim was to compare The nurses´s psychological stress levels from the unit of intensive care (UCI) of the Hospital Belen of Trujillo (HBT) with the nurses from The Regional Educational Hospital of Trujillo (HRDT), during August - November, 2013. The sample was constituted by a total of 20 nurses from both institutions. The compilation of information was realized using a questionnaire that allowed to value the psychological stress level for nurses who work in the UCI, it was elaborated by the authoresses, on the basis of the instrument “The Nursing Stress Scale “ of Pamela Gray-Toft and James Anderson. The results demonstrated that 70 % of the nurses from the HRDT and 60 % from the HBT, presented a low psychological stress level; while 40% remaining from the HBT and 30 % from the HRDT, presented a high psychological stress level. After to apply the statistical test Chi2, the obtained value was a-p = 0,537. The conclusion is that do not exist significant differences between the nurses´s psychological stress level from the UCI of the HRDT and the nurses´s psychological stress level of the UCI from the HBT (value - p> 0,05).
