Nivel de conocimiento materno y el cuidado del preescolar con infección respiratoria aguda. Hospital Belén de Trujillo 2013

Abstract

El presente estudio de investigación es de tipo descriptivo correlacional de corte transversal; se realizó una muestra de 235 madres seleccionadas según criterio de inclusión, con el propósito de determinar el nivel de conocimiento materno y el cuidado del preescolar. Se obtuvieron los datos a través de la aplicación de dos instrumentos elaborados por las investigadoras y modificado por juicio de expertos, siendo válido y confiable. El primero para evaluar el nivel de conocimiento y el segundo para evaluar el cuidado del preescolar con Infección Respiratoria Aguda. La confiabilidad fue de 0.95. Para el análisis estadístico se aplicó la prueba no Paramétrica El Chi Cuadrado. Los resultados nos indicaron que el nivel de conocimiento de la madre sobre Infección Respiratoria Aguda en preescolares fue medio con un 58.3%, así mismo el 25.5% de ellas tuvieron un nivel de conocimiento bajo, mientras que el 16.2% un nivel de conocimiento materno alto. En lo referente al cuidado materno sobre Infección Respiratoria Aguda en preescolares fueron regulares en un 79.6%, el 11.5% de ellas brindaron un cuidado bueno, sin embargo el 8.9% del cuidado materno fue malo. Finalmente existió relación significativa con p<0.03 entre las dos variables.

This investigation is a correlational descriptive cross section type, the sample was made of 235 mothers, selected according to the established participation criteria, the purpose is to determine the level of maternal knowledge and the pre schoolchild care in charge of mothers. The data was compiled with the application of two instruments made by the investigators and modified by the judge of experts, resulting valid and trustworthy. The first one to assess the level of knowledge, and the second one to evaluate the care of the pre schoolchild with acute respiratory infection. The trustworthiness was of 0.95. For the statistical analysis was applied the non-parametric test: “El Chi Cuadrado”. The research results indicates the mother´s level of knowledge about the Acute respiratory infection in pre schoolchild was medium with a 58.3%, as well the 25.5% of them had a low knowledge, while the 16.2% have a high maternal knowledge. Regarding the maternal care of pre schoolchild with Acute respiratory infection was regular in 79.6%, the 11.5% had a good care, nevertheless the 8.9% of maternal care was bad. Finally existed a significant relationship with p<0.03 between the two variables
