Nivel de conocimiento sobre salud bucal en escolares de educación primaria de la I.E Javier Heraud, Trujillo - 2017

Abstract

El presente estudio tuvo como propósito determinar el nivel de conocimiento sobre salud bucal en escolares de educación primaria de la I.E Javier Heraud de Trujillo en el año 2017.

Se diseñó un estudio prospectivo, transversal, descriptivo y observacional, con una muestra formada por 180 estudiantes de 4to, 5to y 6to grado de primaria a quienes se les encuestó para determinar el nivel de conocimiento acerca de salud bucal.

Para analizar la información se construyeron tablas de frecuencia de una y doble entrada con sus valores absolutos y relativos. Para generalizar el nivel de conocimiento a la población se construyeron intervalos de confianza al 95%. Para determinar si había diferencia entre el nivel de conocimiento entre el grado y el sexo se empleó la prueba No Paramétrica de independencia de criterios utilizando la distribución Chi cuadrado con un nivel de significancia del 5%.

Los resultados mostraron que el nivel de conocimiento sobre salud bucal fue bueno; según el grado, en 4to grado fue regular y en 5to y 6to grado fue bueno, donde si existe diferencia significativa (p= 0.0070), según el género fue bueno, siendo el femenino el que presento un nivel de conocimiento bueno con mayor porcentaje donde no podemos observar una diferencia significativa (p = 0.1107).

Y se concluye que el nivel de conocimiento sobre salud bucal en escolares de educación primaria de la Institución Educativa Javier Heraud Trujillo en el año 2017 fue bueno en niñas de 5to y 6 to grado de primaria.

The present study aimed to determine the level of knowledge on oral health in elementary school students of the I.E Javier Heraud de Trujillo in 2017.

A prospective, transverse, descriptive, and observational study was designed with a sample of 180 4th, 5th, and 6th grade primary school students surveyed to determine the level of knowledge about oral health.

In order to analyze the information, one- and double-entry frequency tables were constructed with their absolute and relative values. In order to generalize the level of knowledge to the population, 95% confidence intervals were constructed. To determine if there was a difference between the level of knowledge between grade and sex, the nonparametric test of criteria independence was used using the Chi square distribution with a significance level of 5%.

The results showed that the level of knowledge about oral health was good; According to the degree, in 4th grade was regular and in 5th and 6th grade was good, where there is a significant difference (p = 0.0070), according to the genre was good, being the female that presented a good level of knowledge with higher percentage where We can not observe a significant difference (p = 0.1107).

And we conclude that the level of knowledge about oral health in elementary school students of the Educational Institution Javier Heraud Trujillo in 2017 was good for girls in the 5th and 6th grade of elementary school.
