Nivel de conocimiento y prácticas del uso de multimicronutrientes administrados por madres a lactantes que acuden al Centro de Salud Unión - Trujillo, 2017

Abstract

La presente investigación de tipo descriptivo correlacional, tuvo como objetivo determinar la relación entre el nivel de conocimiento y prácticas del uso de multimicronutrientes administrados por madres a lactantes del Centro de Salud Unión de Trujillo, durante los meses de abril a julio del 2017. La muestra estuvo conformada por 64 madres de lactantes de 6 a 12 meses. Se aplicaron dos instrumentos, el primero midió el nivel de conocimiento de las madres del uso de multimicronutrientes y el segundo las prácticas. Se encontró que el 73% de las madres presentó un nivel de conocimientos regular, el 16% un nivel de conocimiento bueno y el 11% un nivel de conocimiento deficiente así mismo el 70% de las madres presentó una práctica inadecuada del uso de multimicronutrientes y el 30% una práctica adecuada. Se encontró que de las madres que presentaron un conocimiento deficiente el 100% tuvieron una práctica inadecuada y de las madres que tuvieron un conocimiento bueno el 80% tuvo una práctica adecuada. Según la prueba chi-cuadrado se obtuvo un valor p < 0,01; por lo tanto el nivel de conocimiento y prácticas del uso de multimicronutrientes están significativamente relacionados.

The present descriptive correlational research aimed to determine the relationship between the level of knowledge and practices of the use of multimicronutrients administered by mothers to infants of the Health Center of Trujillo, during the months of April to July of 2017. The sample was made up of 64 mothers of infants from 6 to 12 months. Two instruments were applied, the first one measured the level of knowledge of the mothers of the use of multimicronutrients and the second the practices. It was found that 73% of the mothers had a regular level of knowledge, 16% had a good level of knowledge and 11% had a deficient level of knowledge, likewise, 70% of the mothers had an inadequate practice of using multimicronutrients and 30% an adequate practice. It was found that of mothers who had poor knowledge 100% had an inadequate practice and of mothers who had a good knowledge 80% had adequate practice. According to the chi square

test, a value of p <0.01 was obtained; Therefore the level of knowledge and practices of the use of multimicronutrients are significantly related.
