Competencia parental y clima social escolar en estudiantes de secundaria de una institución educativa estatal de Trujillo

Abstract

Se ha realizado un estudio correlacional entre competencia parental y clima social escolar en estudiantes de secundaria de una institución educativa estatal de Trujillo. Para ello se trabajó con una muestra de 241 estudiantes del 1er a 5to grado de secundaria de la institución en mención, con edades entre 12 y 17 años, de ambos géneros, con matricula vigente en el año escolar 2017, empleando para su evaluación la Escala de Competencia Parental Percibida, versión para hijos/as (ECPP-H) de Bayot y Hernández (2008) y la Escala de Clima Social Escolar (CES) de Moos y Tricket (1979)

Los resultados muestran, en cuanto a la Competencia Parental, predomina en los estudiantes evaluados, un nivel medio a nivel general y en sus dimensiones, con porcentajes de estudiantes que registran este nivel que oscilan entre 46.5% y 50.2%; y un nivel medio de Clima Social Escolar a nivel general y en sus dimensiones, con porcentajes que oscilan entre 48.1% y 53.1%.

En cuanto al análisis relacional, se encontró una correlación muy significativa, positiva y en grado medio, entre Competencia Parental y Clima Social Escolar en los sujetos de estudio. Por otro lado, existe correlación muy significativa, positiva y en grado medio, entre las dimensiones Consistencia disciplinar, Resolución de conflictos, Implicación parental de la Competencia Parental y las dimensiones Relaciones y Autorrealización del Clima Social Escolar.

A correlational study has been carried out between parental competition and school social climate in high school students of a state educational institution in Trujillo. For this purpose, a sample of 241 students from 1st to 5th grade of the institution in question, aged between 12 and 17 years, of both genders, with enrollment in force in the 2017 school year, was used for the evaluation of the Scale (ECPP-H) of Bayot and Hernández (2008) and the School Social Climate Scale (CES) of Moos and Tricket (1979)

The results show that, in terms of Parental Competence, a mean level in general and in its dimensions prevails in the students evaluated, with percentages of students registering between 46.5% and 50.2%; and an average level of School Social Climate in general and in its dimensions, with percentages ranging from 48.1% to 53.1%.

Regarding the relational analysis, a very significant, positive and average correlation was found between Parental Competence and School Social Climate in the study subjects. On the other hand, there is a very significant correlation, positive and in average degree, between the dimensions of Disciplinary Consistency, Conflict Resolution, Parental Involvement of Parental Competence and the Relations and Self-Realization Dimension of School Social Climate.
