| es_PE |
dc.description.abstract | To determine the relationship between hysterorhropha techniques and the
presence of post-cesarean isthmus.
Material and methods: An observational, analytical, prospective cohort study was
conducted in 110 pregnant women who underwent primary cesarean section at the
Belén Hospital in Trujillo between November 2023 and May 2024. Two groups were
formed: group A, with 55 cases submitted to the hysterorhrophy technique in a single
plane; and group B, with 55 cases submitted to the technique with hysterorhaphy repair
in two planes. Excluded from the study were 3 patients with body incisions, 2 with
endometritis, 6 with diabetes and 2 chronic infections. During the puerperium, follow-
up with transvaginal ultrasound was carried out at 6 and 12 weeks post-cesarean
section. and relative risk (RR) was estimated as a measure of association.
Results: Of the 55 patients who underwent single-plane hysterorhaphy, 36.4% had
istmocele at 6 weeks and this decreased to 34.5% at 12 weeks post-cesarean section.
While in the group with hysterorrrhaphy in 2 planes, 20% had istmocele at six weeks
and it was reduced to 18.2% at 12 weeks.
Conclusions: The study suggests that two-plane hysterorhaphy reduces the
incidence of post-cesarean isthmus compared to single-plane hysterorrhaphy. Tearing
of the segment and the presence of bloody lochia for more than 14 days significantly
increase the risk of isthmocele. | es_PE |
