dc.description.abstract | Objetivo: Determinar si existe asociación entre infección por helicobacter
pylori y la presencia de esofagitis por reflujo gastroesofágico en pacientes
atendidos en el Hospital Belén de Trujillo.
Material y Métodos: Se llevó a cabo un estudio de tipo analítico,
observacional, retrospectivo, seccional transversal. La población de estudio
estuvo constituida por 136 pacientes a quienes se les realizo endoscopia
digestiva alta; quienes se dividieron en 2 grupos: con esofagitis y sin esofagitis
por reflujo gastroesofágico.
Resultados: La frecuencia de infección por helicobacter pylori en pacientes
con esofagitis por reflujo gastroesofágico fue de 21/45= 46%. La frecuencia
de infección por helicobacter pylori en pacientes sin esofagitis por reflujo
gastroesofágico fue de 65/91= 71%. La infección por helicobacter pylori se
asocia de manera inversa con esofagitis por reflujo gastroesofágico con un
odds ratio de 0.35 el cual fue significativo (p<0.05).
Conclusiones: Existe asociación inversa entre infección por helicobacter pylori
y la presencia de esofagitis por reflujo gastroesofágico en pacientes atendidos

dc.description.abstract | Objective: To determine the association between helicobacter pylori infection
and the presence of esophagitis in patients treated at the Bethlehem Hospital of
Trujillo.
Material and Methods: An analytical study, observational, retrospective,
cross-sectional type was carried out. The study population consisted of 136
patients who underwent upper endoscopy; who they were divided into 2 groups:
with esophagitis without esophagitis.
Results: The frequency of helicobacter pylori infection in patients with
esophagitis was 21/45 = 46%. The frequency of helicobacter pylori infection in
patients without esophagitis was 65/91 = 71%. Helicobacter pylori infection is
associated inversely with esophagitis with an odds ratio of 0.35 which was
significant (p <0.05).
Conclusions: There is an inverse association between Helicobacter pylori
infection and the presence of esophagitis in patients treated at the Bethlehem
