To demonstrate whether the overall 5-year survival rate in women with early cervical cancer with surgical treatment who received adjuvant radiotherapy is higher than in patients who did not receive such treatment, at the “Hospital de Alta Complejidad “Virgen de la Puerta” – Trujillo during the period 2014-2023. MATERIAL AND METHOD: Retrospective cohort study. The medical records of 82 patients with early cervical cancer who underwent surgery and who did or did not receive adjuvant radiotherapy between 2014 and 2023 were reviewed. The results were presented using Kaplan-Meier survival curves in both groups; and the Log-Rank statistic was used for statistical analysis. Multivariate analysis was performed using the Cox Regression model to determine the Hazard Ratio (HR). RESULTS: The overall 5-year survival rate in patients with early cervical cancer who underwent surgery and received adjuvant radiotherapy was 85.5% compared to 78.1% in patients who did not receive it. However, when comparing these values using the Long- Rank test, this difference was not statistically significant (p=0.089). The multivariate analysis showed that clinical stage IB2 was associated with mortality (p=0.033). The other factors were not significantly associated. CONCLUSIONS: Overall five-year survival is higher in women with early cervical cancer who underwent surgery and received adjuvant radiotherapy compared to the group that received surgery alone; however, this difference was not significant. In addition, clinical stage IB2 is a risk factor associated with mortality.es_PE
