dc.description.abstractEl presente estudio in vitro tuvo como objetivo determinar y comparar la eficacia inhibitoria de cinco pastas dentales pediátricas para dentición temporal frente a la bacteria Streptococcus mutans ATCC 25175. Materiales y Método: El estudio fue comparativo y experimental, y se cultivó al microorganismo Streptococcus mutans ATCC 25175 un medio de cultivo Müeller Hinton- sangre, luego a las placas cultivadas se le inocularon cinco pastas dentales pediátricas: Oral B Stages, Colgate Smiles, Aquafresh My Little Teeth, Dentito y Denture Kids. Se incubó a 37ºC por 48 horas y posteriormente se midió los halos de inhibición, se replicó el experimento 20 veces. El análisis estadístico se realizó con un test de ANOVA complementado con el test de Tukey. Resultados: Oral B Stages generó una media inhibitoria de 23.231 mm, Colgate Smiles generó una media inhibitoria de 21,726 mm, Aquafresh My Little Teeh generó una media inhibitoria de 13,554 mm, Dentito generó una media inhibitoria de 18,508 mm, Denture Kids generó una media inhibitoria de 22,986 mm. Conclusión: Todas las pastas lograron inhibir al Streptococcus mutans ATCC 25175 existiendo diferencia significativa entre la efectividad inhibitoria de estas siendo Oral B Stages la pasta con mayor efectividad inhibitoria.es_PE
dc.description.abstractThe main objective of the present in vitro study was to determine and compare the inhibitory efficacy of five pediatric toothpastes for temporary dentition against the bacterium Streptococcus mutans ATCC 25175. Materials and Methods: The prospective, cross-sectional, comparative and experimental study was carried out in the medical microbiology laboratory of the human medicine faculty of the UNT. The microorganism Streptococcus mutans ATCC 25175 was cultivated in a culture medium Müeller Hinton- blood, then he was inoculated with five pediatric toothpastes: Oral B Stages, Colgate Smiles, Aquafresh My Little Teeth, Dentito and Denture Kids. It was incubated for 48 hours and the measurement of the inhibition halos was taken, the experiment was replicated 20 times. The statistical analysis was performed with an ANOVA test supplemented with the Tukey test. Results: Oral B Stages generated an inhibitory mean of 23,231 mm, Colgate Smiles generated an inhibitory mean of 21,726 mm, Aquafresh My Little Teeh generated an inhibitory average of 13,554 mm, Dentito generated an inhibitory mean of 18,508 mm, Denture Kids generated an inhibitory mean of 22,986 mm. Conclusion: All the pastes were able to inhibit ATCC 25175 mutans Streptococcus, there being a significant difference between the inhibitory effectiveness of these.en_US
