Valor del marcador tumoral Ca 125 como predictor de citoreducción optima en cáncer de ovario en el Instituto Regional de Enfermedades Neoplásicas

Abstract

Demostrar si el Ca 125 tiene valor como predictor de citorreducción optima en cáncer de ovario en el Instituto Regional de Enfermedades Neoplásicas.

MATERIAL Y MÉTODOS: Estudio de pruebas diagnósticas, retrospectivo, observacional, en 64 pacientes con cáncer de ovario. Se calculó la sensibilidad, especificidad, valor predictivo positivo y negativo para determinar aquel que ofreciera mayor validez predictiva de citoreducción óptima. Se aplicó el test de chi cuadrado y curva ROC.

RESULTADOS: El mejor punto de corte del Ca 125 fue 500 UI/dl correspondiéndole una sensibilidad, especificidad, valor predictivo positivo y negativo de 63%, 91%, 87%, 71%; respectivamente. La curva ROC fue de 0.85.

CONCLUSIONES: El punto de corte de 500 del Ca 125 ofrece el mejor perfil predictivo con una gran significancia estadística para citoreducción óptima . La curva ROC calculada le confiere exactitud intermedia.

Determine the ability of Ca 125 to predict optimal citoreduction in ovarian cancer at Regional Institute Neoplasic Diseases.

MATERIAL AND METHODS: Retrospective, observational, diagnosis test study to aplicate in 64patienst with ovarian cancer. We calculated the sensivity, specificity, positive and negative predictive value to optimal citoreduction. We calculated the chi square test and the area under the curve.

RESULTS: The best cut off value to Ca 125 was 500 UL/dl and sensibility, specificity, positive and negative predictive value was 63%, 91%, 87%, 71% respectively. The ROC curve were 0.85.

CONCLUSIONS: The best cut off value Ca 125 was 500 UI/dl and this offers the better predictive value with a great estadistical significance to optimal citoreduction. The under the curve area offer an intermedium degree of exactitude.
