The effectiveness of clinical skills in the treatment of endodontics in anterior
teeth was compared with the use of traditional training and simulator in the Endodontics I
course of the School of Stomatology of the Private University Antenor Orrego 2019.
Methodology: A comparative longitudinal study of two groups was carried out with a sample
of 21 students each belonging to the Endodontics I course of the Antenor Orrego Private
University. The skills of the students in the treatment of the root canal of anterior teeth were
evaluated with a checklist, previously validated by the Cronbach Alpha test obtaining a value
of 0.751. It was evaluated in phases of cameral access, cleaning and disinfection of the duct
and filling of the duct.
Results: The average of the grades in the students who performed the treatment of
endodontics of anterior teeth in Post-simulator patients reached a good level with 16.04, and
the students who performed the treatment with traditional post-training reached an average
with patients of 10, 95 being Regular. The results showed a significance value of 0.000, thus
being the development of clinical skills in a more effective simulator.
Conclusions: Simulator treatment is statistically more effective than treatment in traditional
training in the development of clinical skills in the treatment of endodontics in anterior teeth.
