Pensamientos suicidas entre estudiantes de una universidad privada de Trujillo, según sexo

Abstract

La presente investigación tiene como finalidad determinar las diferencias de los pensamientos suicidas entre estudiantes hombres y mujeres de la carrera profesional de psicología de una universidad privada de Trujillo. La muestra estuvo constituida por 256 alumnos de primer a décimo ciclo a quienes se les administró la Escala de riesgo suicida de Robert Plutchik adaptada por Bautista (2014). El análisis de los resultados obtenidos se realizó mediante la prueba U de Mann-Withney. Los resultados muestran que no existen diferencias significativas entre el pensamiento suicida de los estudiantes según sexo. De igual forma, en las dimensiones sentimientos de inutilidad, ideación suicida, sentimiento de desesperanza y factores sociales, tampoco se identificaron diferencias significativas entre ambos sexos.

The main purpose of this work is to determine the differences in suicidal thoughts between male and female students of the professional career of psychology at a private university in Trujillo. The sample consisted of 256 students from first to tenth cycle who were administered the Robert Plutchik Suicidal Risk Scale adapted by Bautista (2014). The analysis of the results obtained was carried out using the Mann-Withney U test. The results show that there are no significant differences between the suicidal thoughts of the students according to sex. Similarly, in the dimensions feelings of worthlessness, suicidal ideation, feeling of hopelessness and social factors, no significant differences were identified between both sexes.
