Valor del espesor cortical renal por ultrasonido como predictor de enfermedad renal crónica temprana en pacientes del Hospital De Alta Complejidad Virgen de La Puerta, periodo 2020 a 2023

Abstract

Determinar si el espesor cortical renal por ultrasonido tiene valor como predictor de enfermedad renal crónica temprana en pacientes del Hospital De Alta Complejidad Virgen de La Puerta, periodo 2020 a 2023. Material y métodos: Se desarrolló un estudio de tipo retrospectivo seccional de pruebas diagnósticas en el que se incluyeron a 139 pacientes, según criterios de selección, los cuales se dividieron en 2 grupos: con o sin enfermedad renal crónica; calculándose la sensibilidad, especificidad, valor predictivo positivo y valor predictivo negativo. Resultados: La frecuencia de obesidad, diabetes mellitus y anemia fueron significativamente mayores en el grupo con enfermedad renal crónica temprana (p<0.05), la sensibilidad y especificidad del espesor cortical renal por ultrasonido como predictor de enfermedad renal crónica temprana fue de 85% y 84% respectivamente, el valor predictivo positivo y negativo del espesor cortical renal por ultrasonido como predictor de enfermedad renal crónica temprana fue de 82% y 86% respectivamente, el área bajo la curva del espesor cortical renal para el pronóstico de enfermedad renal crónica temprana corresponde a una exactitud pronostica de 84%. Conclusión: el espesor cortical renal por ultrasonido tiene valor como predictor de enfermedad renal crónica temprana en pacientes del Hospital De Alta Complejidad Virgen de La Puerta, periodo 2020 a 2023.

To determine whether renal cortical thickness by ultrasound has value as a predictor of early chronic kidney disease in patients at the Virgen de La Puerta High Complexity Hospital, from 2020 to 2023. Material and methods: A retrospective sectional study of diagnostic tests was carried out in which 139 patients were included, according to selection criteria which were divided into 2 groups: with or without chronic kidney disease; calculating sensitivity, specificity, positive predictive value and negative predictive value. Results: The frequency of obesity, diabetes mellitus and anemia were significantly higher in the group with early chronic kidney disease (p < 0.05), the sensitivity and specificity of renal cortical thickness by ultrasound as a predictor of early chronic kidney disease was 85% and 84% respectively, the positive and negative predictive value of renal cortical thickness by ultrasound as a predictor of early chronic kidney disease was 82% and 86% respectively, the area under the curve of renal cortical thickness for the prognosis of early chronic kidney disease corresponds to a prognostic accuracy of 84%. Conclusion: Renal cortical thickness by ultrasound has value as a predictor of early chronic kidney disease in patients at the Virgen de La Puerta High Complexity Hospital, period 2020 to 2023.
