The majority of abortions that was attended are incomplete and are the main indication for curettage. The use of contraceptives reduces these events, but the acceptance by users varies according to different social realities. Aim: To determine the factors associated with the acceptance of contraception in post uterine curettage women in two hospitals in La Libertad. Methods: An analytical, cross-sectional observational study was carried out. Ninety women were surveyed in a face to face way, post uterine curettage, on sociodemographic aspects, obstetric history and on advice received in family planning. A bivariate analysis was performed with the Chi square test and Pearson's exact test. Results: It was found that there is a statistically significant difference (p <0.05) between the acceptance of the contraceptive method and the acceptance and planning of pregnancy. In addition, there is a greater acceptance of current contraception if it has been used previously. Conclusions: The acceptance of contraception is higher in those women who used it previously and with the acceptance or planning of the current pregnancy. However, there are still many social barriers to increasing its useen_US
