dc.description.abstract | To determine if age, sex, body mass index and work activity are factors associated with disability in outpatients with low back pain in EsSalud Piura Hospitals during the year 2022. MATERIAL AND METHODS: This research is observational, analytical, cross sectional. To carry out the study, a survey will be applied in which the basic data of each participant will be collected in which the data will be collected to identify and be able to associate and identify the risk factors that are associated with low back pain, and then the questionnaire will be applied. of the oswestry index, by means of this the degree of disability of each participant will be identified, and thus we will be able to obtain the percentage of patients who present disability due to low back pain. RESULTS: 101 participants with valid registrations; 58.42% of them were female (59 participants); in turn, the average for the detected age was 34.47 years; For the Body Mass Index (BMI) present in the patients, we found that more than 50% of the total records presented between Overweight and Grade II obesity, using the Oswestry scale for the evaluation of the Disability Index, we found that in 84 of the participants (83.17%) presented an average of 14.9 points and finally, through the statistical analysis process, we found that there will be no significant association between the presence of low back pain and the development of Minimum Disability (p:0.047; OR: 1.35; CI: 0.01- 1.67) nor for Moderate Disability (p:0.05; OR: 1.12; CI: 0.02-1.53). CONCLUSIONS: There is no association between the presence of low back pain and Disability for minimum (p:0.047) and moderate (p:0.05) values. | en_US |
