Estado nutricional y nivel de autoestima del escolar de la institución Educativa Nº 80008 República Argentina, Trujillo, 2015

Abstract

Con el objetivo de determinar si el estado nutricional se relaciona con el nivel de autoestima de los escolares, se realizó un estudio descriptivo, correlacional y de corte transversal; en el cual se estudió una muestra aleatoria de 92 escolares con edades entre 10 y 12 años matriculados en la Institución Educativa Nº 80008 “República Argentina” del distrito de Trujillo durante el año académico 2015. Todos los escolares tuvieron que responder la escala de autoestima de Rosenberg, además fueron pesados y tallados a fin de obtener su índice de masa corporal que permitió definir su estado nutricional. Para el análisis estadístico se utilizó la prueba de Chi cuadrado, fijando el nivel de significancia en P<0.05. Se encontró que el estado nutricional de los escolares de la Institución Educativa Nº 80008 “República Argentina” de Trujillo en el año 2015 fue: eutrófico 34.8%, sobrepeso 34.8% y obesidad 30.4%. El nivel de autoestima de los escolares fue alto 54.3%, medio 35.9% y bajo 9.8%. Concluyéndose que el estado nutricional no se relacionó significativamente con el nivel de autoestima de los escolares.

In order to determine whether nutritional status is related to the selfesteem

of the students, a descriptive, correlational and cross-sectional study was conducted; in which a random sample of 92 students aged between 10 and 12 years enrolled was studied in the School No. 80008 ““Argentina Republic““ of Trujillo during the academic year 2015. It was found that the nutritional status of schoolchildren of School No. 80008 ““Argentina Republic,““ Trujillo in 2015 was: eutrophic 34.8%, overweight 34.8% and obesity 30.4%. The self-esteem of the students was high 54.3%, medium 35.9% and low 9.8%. Concluding that the nutritional status was not significantly related to self-esteem of the students.
