Determine whether severe preeclampsia, HELLP syndrome,
postpartum hemorrhage and puerperal sepsis are factors associated with acute
kidney injury in pregnant women treated at the Bethlehem Hospital of Trujillo.
Material and Methods: A study of analytical, observational, retrospective,
case-control type was carried out . The study population consisted of 68
pregnant women at high-risk obstetrics; who they were divided into 2 groups:
acute renal injury without it.
Results: Severe preeclampsia is associated with acute kidney injury in pregnant
women with an odds ratio of 3.3 which was significant factor. HELLP
syndrome is associated with acute kidney injury in pregnant women with an
odds ratio of 4.9 which was significant factor. Postpartum hemorrhage is
associated with acute kidney injury in pregnant women with an odds ratio of
6.1 which was significant factor. Puerperal sepsis is associated with acute
kidney injury in pregnant women with an odds ratio of 10.7 which was
significant factor.
Conclusions: Severe preeclampsia, HELLP syndrome, postpartum hemorrhage
and puerperal sepsis are factors associated with acute kidney injury in pregnant
women treated at the Bethlehem Hospital of Trujillo.
