Estudio retrospectivo de factores asociados a insuficiencia renal en Canis familiaris atendidos en centros veterinarios del distrito de Trujillo 2014 - 2016

Abstract

Con el objetivo de evaluar la insuficiencia renal (IR) en caninos, se realizó el estudio retrospectivo utilizando datos de fichas clínicas de cuatro clínicas veterinarias de la ciudad de Trujillo entre los años 2014 - 2016, de los cuales se consiguieron 150 casos. Los datos recolectados fueron agrupados según sexo, edad, tipo de alimentación y uso de medicamentos nefrotóxicos de pacientes con diagnóstico presuntivo de insuficiencia renal , los cuales fueron analizados mediante la prueba de chi² y Odds ratio para la asociación y estimación de riesgo de las variables respectivamente. La enfermedad se presentó en 51 caninos (34%) correspondiendo 39.21% (20/51) a insuficiencia renal aguda (IRA) y 60.78% (31/51) a insuficiencia renal crónica (IRC). Se concluye que los caninos de sexo macho, grupo etario geronte, alimentación casera y tratados con medicamentos nefrotóxicos se asocian en el desarrollo de insuficiencia renal.

In order to evaluate the renal insufficiency (RI) in canines, the retrospective study was carried out using clinical records data from four veterinary clinics in the city of Trujillo between the years 2014 - 2016, of which 150 cases were obtained. The data collected were grouped according to sex, age, type of feeding and use of nephrotoxic drugs of patients with presumptive diagnosis of renal failure, which were analyzed using the chi2 test and odds ratio for the association and risk estimation of the variables respectively. The disease was present in 51 canines (34%), corresponding to 39.21% (20/51) to acute renal failure (ARF) and 60.78% (31/51) to chronic renal failure (CRF). It is concluded that canines of male sex, age group geronte and home feed and treated with nephrotoxic drugs are associated in the development of renal failure.
