Influencia de las características geométricas de la carretera San Juan – Chotén en la seguridad vial-Cajamarca

Abstract

La carretera San Juan Choten forma parte de la red vial nacional (ruta 8) y es uno de los tramos con alta incidencia de accidentalidad, razón por la cual, en la presente tesis se determina la influencia de las características geométricas de la carretera San Juan Choten en la seguridad vial, con la finalidad de investigar si, en los accidentes que ocurren en el tramo influyen las características geométricas de la vía. Para lograr el objetivo planteado se evaluó la clasificación de la carretera, las características geométricas, las velocidades de operación y se determinaron los tramos donde ocurrieron la mayor cantidad de accidentes. Los resultados, indican que la carretera debe ser de primera clase tipo III, por lo que al evaluar sus características geométricas se concluyó que el 100% de la vía no cumple con los parámetros mínimos exigidos por las DG 2018, lo que determina que los vehículos que operan sobre ella no lo hagan con seguridad. Así mismo del análisis de las velocidades de operación se determinó que el 30.1%. de la longitud presenta una consistencia mala; lo que implica que los vehículos operan a velocidades que no corresponden a las características geométricas de la vía. Así mismo se ha encontrado que los tramos con mayor ocurrencia de accidentes tienen características geométricas no adecuadas, asociada a una consistencia mala; de lo que se puede deducir que las características geométricas influyen en la seguridad vial; razón por la cual es necesario de que se proponga el mejoramiento de la carretera, adecuándola a una de primera clase tipo III.

The San Juan Choten highway is part of the national road network (route 8) and is one of the stretches with a high incidence of accidents. For this reason, this thesis determines the influence of the geometric characteristics of the San Juan Choten highway on road safety, with the purpose of investigating whether the geometric characteristics of the road influence the accidents that occur in the stretch. In order to achieve the proposed objective, the classification of the road, geometric characteristics, operating speeds and the sections where the greatest number of accidents occurred were evaluated. The results indicate that the road should be of first class type III, so when evaluating its geometric characteristics it was concluded that 100% of the road does not meet the minimum parameters required by the DG 2018, which determines that vehicles operating on it do not do so safely. Likewise, from the analysis of the operating speeds it was determined that 30.1% of the length presents a poor consistency; which implies that vehicles operate at speeds that do not correspond to the geometric characteristics of the road. Likewise, it has been found that the stretches with the highest occurrence of accidents have inadequate geometric characteristics, associated to a bad consistency; from which it can be deduced that geometric characteristics influence road safety; reason for which it is necessary to propose the improvement of the road, adapting it to a first class type III.
