El reciente estudio concierne a un análisis correlacional que buscó indagar la relación
entre la salud mental y adicción al internet en adolescentes de una institución educativa estatal
en Sullana. La muestra estuvo conformada por 157 alumnas, de 1° a 5° del nivel secundario, a
quienes se les aplicó la Escala breve de Salud Mental (Mental Health Inventory-5 [MHI-5]) y
la Escala de la Adicción a Internet de Lima (EAIL). Se halló que existe relación significativa,
indirecta y de grado medio, entre la salud mental y la adicción al internet en las alumnas (rho=
-.398; p<.01), de esta manera, se concluye que una mayor salud mental se relaciona con menor
adicción al internet The recent study concerns a correlational analysis that seeks to investigate the
relationship between mental health and Internet addiction in adolescents from a state
educational institution in Sullana. The sample consisted of 157 female students, from 1st to 5th
grade of the secondary level, who were given the Brief Mental Health Inventory-5 [MHI-5]
Scale and the Internet Addiction Scale of Lima (EAIL). It was found that there is a significant,
indirect and medium-grade relationship between mental health and internet addiction in female
students (rho= -.398; p<.01), in this way, it is concluded that greater mental health is associated
with less Internet addiction.
